New Release of DVLA Number Plates

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

The new 59 series dvla number plates will be released for sale on Tuesday June 2 nd. These new number plates will be available for purchase as soon as they are released with car registration numbers like SU59 ANS and other desirable DVLA number Plates likely to sell fast if other releases are anything to go by.

With new car sales during 2008 and the first quarter of 2009 being poor on other years it remains to be seen if new car registrations will pick up as part of the green shoots of recovery we here so much about. To be fair the body of opinion feeling the media was a catalyst for the economic downturn should be heartened by the swell of recovery talk.

Even through the credit crunch car registration numbers have proven to be a canny investment.

DVLA Speeds up the process for selling private number plates on retention

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

The DVLA are introducing changes to the process of assigning a vehicle registration mark to a vehicle not registered to the grantee. Under the current rules if a private number plate is on Retention Certificate, V778, or is on a Certificate of Entitlement, V750, the certificate Nominee has to be added at the DVLA’s head office in Swansea and returned, before the registration number can be assigned to a vehicle registered to anyone other than the grantee. This process can take several weeks and will hold up the sale of a personal number plate held on certificate. Under the new rules the nominee will be able to be added or changed at the point of assignment at the local DVLA office, thus speeding up the process.
